Awesome Tidbitsfrom Fr. Rey Week of July 23rd (16th Sunday OT)
SHOUT OUT to …
The vacation bible school’s (VBS) organizers, leaders, and participants for a successful, spirit-filled, and awesome experience! Shout out to the moms and dads too for allowing their children to participate in the VBS. So, now what? The participant’s relationship with the Lord does not stop with the various activities they have done, pictures they have taken, meals they have shared together. It continues in their life journey. So, you…yes you…will help me pray for them and their families that they may continue to grow in their relationship with the Lord, wherever they are, and whatever they do. Deal? I will pray for you too…be assured of that.
Our liturgical ministers who selflessly making themselves available in the service of God’s people. If you have not been a liturgical minister, then you may be called to serve in the liturgical celebration like an altar server, lector, extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, music minister, to mention a few. Please pray about it. If you need a priest to discern with you, please feel free to chat with Fr. Lieu, Fr. Robain, and me. We will be more than happy to help you discern.
World Youth Day (WYD) 2023. WYD is a gathering of young people from all over the world with the Pope. This year it will be in Lisbon, Portugal from August 1-6. During my seminary days, I was blessed to have attended two WYD gatherings – Sydney, Australia; and Madrid, Spain. I encourage our youths and their families to participate in this awesome gathering of young people. This happens every two, three or four years. I guarantee you, you will have an awesome experience! Also, this year, our very own Bishop Oscar Cantu will participate in a few gatherings among the participating youths worldwide, such as speaking engagements, and presiding the Holy Eucharist.
