What wonderful news to share with you! Our beloved Saint Francis of Assisi Parish has been designated by Bishop Cantú as the official Pilgrim Church of the Diocese of San José for the Franciscan Jubilee Year, from January 10, 2026, through January 10, 2027.
What an honor and blessing this is for our community! Throughout this special year, Catholics from across our diocese will make pilgrimage to our church seeking spiritual renewal, grace, and the Jubilee indulgences granted by Pope Leo XIV. Our parish home becomes a beacon of prayer, reconciliation, and mercy for all.
This Jubilee Year invites us to walk more closely with Saint Francis—embracing his spirit of peace, care for creation, and love for the poor. It’s a time for deeper conversion, for celebrating the Sacraments especially Reconciliation and the Eucharist, and for reaching out in works of mercy to those in need.
I encourage each of you to embrace this Jubilee Year in your own spiritual journey. Come to pray, participate in our celebrations, and welcome the pilgrims who will visit us. Let us show them the warmth and hospitality that Saint Francis himself would offer.
May this year of grace draw us all closer to Christ and to one another. What a joy to be chosen for this sacred purpose!
